What’s it about? Wrong question. What’s the play, what’s the part, what’s the line? Yes, exactly. Is it theater? A concert? Dance? Words, endless words… Just see it! But if you insist on less mystery: Tragedy Is Dead! blends high and low art forms (e.g., tragedy, Vaudeville, cabaret) and source materials (e.g., text fragments from Aeschylus' Agamemnon, Euripides' The Bacchae and Shakespeare's Hamlet, as well as original material by the show's director) in an attempt to create a visceral experience of the interrelationship between the sacred and the profane. It's also just great fun with a rocking live band! PLEASE NOTE: Contains nudity.
An original piece constructed on text from Aeschylus’ Agamemnon, Euripides’ The Bacchae & Shakespeare’s Hamlet, with original text by Joseph Ivo von Vespri.
