Writing in Television for Playwrights, Composers, and Lyricists

With Ken Levine

Dramatists Guild member Ken Levine has written over 200 television episodes for such shows as M*A*S*H, Cheers, Frasier, The Simpsons and Wings, and won an Emmy for his work on Cheers. He's also directed over 60 television episodes. So who better than Ken to explain the difference between writing for the stage and writing for television, how to create a pilot with the legs to run for many seasons and what it's like to work in the writers' room on a major television show? Join us for an inside look at writing for television, and maybe come away with the information you need to write a show of your own. This workshop, organized by Philadelphia DG Regional Rep Marjorie Bicknell, will aim to share basic tools and industry knowledge of writing in television for playwrights, composers, and lyricists.

The Dramatists Guild of America is the membership association of playwrights, librettists, composers, and lyricists writing for the stage in the United States.

Friday, April 23 from 7:00pm-8:30pm
