A protest brought Jesse, an introspective Black playwright, together with his white boyfriend Neil, a Black Lives Matter activist. But as Neil immerses himself deeper in the movement, Jesse finds his choices challenged and their love on the line. When passions, politics and priorities collide, the couple must reckon with race, privilege and the bravery it takes to love out loud.

“One of the most ruthlessly truthful interracial love stories the American stage has seen” -- DC Metro Theatre Arts

"A play full of profound moments and timely questions… an intense, analytical journey to the intersection of race and politics." --Chicago Tribune

Additional Details:

InterAct requires proof of vaccination and masking at all InterAct events. All patrons must demonstrate proof of vaccination along with an ID upon arrival at the theatre. Proof of vaccination is accepted in the following forms: physical card, photocopy, photo on a mobile device, or through the Bindle app. In addition, all patrons must wear masks at all times while inside.

All InterAct events are capped at 60% capacity (72 seats in the 121-seat Proscenium Theatre at The Drake) to encourage social distancing. InterAct sanitizes high-touch areas in the theatre and lobby daily, and has installed contactless hand sanitizing stations and water stations.

The HVAC system of the Proscenium Theatre at The Drake well exceeds recommended guidelines in air exchange cycles and filtration, completing a full air exchange cycle every 4.5 minutes (13.1 cycles per hour compared to the recommended 6 per hour) through MERV 13 filters, the highest grade filter available for our system and the recommended grade for COVID safety.

Accessibility:

The Drake is fully accessible to patrons with mobility needs. InterAct events are general admission; however, if a patron has an accessibility need that requires a seat in the front row (which is on the same level as the entrance to the theatre), InterAct will reserve a seat for them. These requests can be made when purchasing a ticket by choosing a ticket in the "Accessible Seating - Front Row" section, or by calling or emailing the box office. We regret that at this time we do not have audio enhancement, audio description or open captioning available.
