Origins Theatre Festival is a virtual event.
Origins Theatre Festival was conceived to celebrate artists and theatre as one universal language. Although our spoken word may be different, Origins honors where we all come from, our roots, igniting innovation and transformation in the arts.
Origins Theatre Festival is a 3 day virtual festival which encompasses a series of panels with guest speakers, workshops and master classes around the themes of innovation in the arts, representation on and off stage, and the universality of the theatre. We celebrate all artists that are making change in the theatre, many of whom are behind the scenes, not on the stage.
How it works...
Starting at 10am EST, there are scheduled events throughout the day that you can be a part of. You can get a day or weekend pass that will give you access to the schedule with links to the discussions and workshops. Panelists are joining us from around the world. Some of the panels and workshops that are being offered include daily meditations, creative explorations, discussions about representation on and off the stage and the decolonization of theatre, and specialized master classes. Each day’s events culminate in The Phoenix Theatre’s virtual production of Blood Wedding/Bodas de Sangre starting at 8pm EST.
