Liebovar, or The Little Blind Girl is a new opera based on an original story by Philadelphia-area composer Misha Dutka. It tells the tale of an ancient, mystical village in which all the children have mysteriously disappeared, one by one, except for a little blind girl. The cast includes an evil ogre and a forest full of animals dancing to the music of a mini-orchestra.
While some images may be intense for very young children, anyone who likes Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone will love Liebovar, or The Little Blind Girl.
The performance features choreography by Anne Margaret O’Malley, artistic director for Flamenco Y Más. As an added bonus, a select group of O’Malley’s students will open the evening with a program of Flamenco Family Fun, a delightful presentation celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
This is an evening of music and dance you won’t want to miss!
