Terminus tells the story of Eller, a white matriarch, and her mixed-race grandson, Jaybo. As Eller’s mind begins to fade with dementia, her violent past in the segregated South haunts her and Jaybo’s capacity to love his grandmother is put to the test.
In 2015, Mohegan theatre-maker Madeline Sayet travels to England and finds a country that refuses to acknowledge its ongoing role in colonialism. This intimate and exhilarating solo piece forces us to consider what it means to belong in an increasingly globalized world.
PlayPenn’s Annual Conference includes workshops and readings of six plays, additional readings of up to three works-in-progress, forums for artists, and a symposium or special programming on new play development issues or current events. All public readings are free and open to the public!
