Join the Art-Reach Cultural Accessibility Conference

Sep 13, 2021

Theatre Philadelphia! Let’s make Philadelphia the most accessible city for arts engagement in the country!

September is such an energizing month as everyone begins their routine for the year and the seasons begin to change. If you are missing that back-to-school feeling, we invite everyone from accessibility novices to experts, to brush up on your accessibility practices by attending our Cultural Accessibility Conference, September 21-23, 2021 online!

The Cultural Accessibility Conference is just one way Art-Reach works to build an accessible, equitable world.

Over three days online, attendees of the Cultural Accessibility Conference will build tools, knowledge, and an international network of allies and resources to increase accessibility and inclusion in arts and culture. Topics cover ticketing and best practices in theatre, how to sustain At-Home audiences with accessible practices, building proper policies, budgets, and strategies for inclusion across all theatre departments and much more.

Keynote Speaker: the Honorable Anthony "Tony" Coelho

The conference will kick off with a Keynote from the Honorable Anthony "Tony" Coelho; former six-term, United States Congressmen and primary author of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), followed by seven live sessions, three on-demand learning opportunities, and a Call To Action! presented by Dr. Tina Childress, Audiologist, self-advocate, and internationally recognized accessibility educator. All sessions will be CART captioned, ASL interpreted, and presented on Zoom. The live sessions will be recorded and made available for registrants until October 4th, so if you’re busy checking our Fringe or getting a show ready AND you don’t want to miss this opportunity, please check out some live sessions, but come back to conference page in case you missed something.

On Demand Session: Service First- Presented By Dani Rose, Ticket Philadelphia/ Kimmel Cultural Campus

Attendees can choose the full three-day package or each day individually. During the 3-days of the conference you can network and meet other folks on Slack with our peer Access Jawn! If price is a barrier to you, we do have a limited number of scholarships available! Click here to apply.

Registration closes at 11:59 pm on Friday, September 17th, 2021. For help with registration, or any other questions contact Katie Samson
