In overlapping timelines, Miranda and her son Grayson caretake for a motel in upstate New York as a spaceship heads out to the cosmos to investigate a gravitational anomaly. Mei and Hal are stuck at the motel when their car breaks down. Other characters weave in and out, and as the chemistry between Mei and Grayson grows, Miranda is positive that she is stranded on earth due to a serious misstep in the universe. Laws of physics and imbalances in the gravitational system begin to unravel, leaving us unclear about what is real, and what is just in our heads.
