Seeking Actor for Solo Virtual Show

Post Date: Nov 10, 2020

Inis Nua Theatre Company is accepting non-union actor submissions for the American premiere of HOW TO BE BRAVE by Sian Owen, a solo Welsh play directed by Artistic Director Tom Reing to be recorded and asynchronously streamed in February, 2021.

Katie is a single mom in her 30s/early 40s (any race/ethnicity). A librarian who was born and raised in the former industrial center of Newport, Wales, her gruff exterior sometimes hides how much she loves her young daughter and cares about her community. The play takes place on a single day when Katie goes on an extraordinary odyssey through Newport, learning to be brave for her daughter.

Rehearsals will be accomplished remotely via video conference and are tentatively scheduled for January 5-24 but are flexible. The performance would be recorded in person on stage with strict social distancing and health and safety precautions over the course of a few days.
