Project Based Fundraising Manager

Almanac Dance Circus Theatre is a Philadelphia-based, contemporary circus company dedicated to original works of genre-defying art. Since its founding, Almanac has premiered 11 shows, touring nationally across eleven states and internationally in Mexico and Edinburgh, in street fairs, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, elementary schools, and private parties. Through hybrid experimentation, deep narratives, and

open environments of circus learning, Almanac gives audiences access to a little bit (or a lot of) everything so they can experience the vicarious thrill of performance without barriers.

Almanac Dance Circus Theatre is seeking a part-time project-based Fundraising Manager. This person will assist Almanac’s Managing Director and Company Members in reaching the fundraising goal for Fit Fest, a large-scale outdoor interdisciplinary arts and movement festival scheduled for October, 2021. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Philadelphia-based philanthropy networks, and will be able to leverage knowledge of the sector to identify a wide list of potential funders and sponsors. Additionally, they will be able to create a strategy for reaching fundraising goals and begin outreach immediately. If successful, there is potential that the position could become a year-round part time position working on Almanac’s other projects. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Experience fundraising (in Philadelphia preferred), with history of successful relationships with larger individual donors and corporations

  • Ability to initiate contact with corporations and foundations and execute sponsorships contracts

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Suite, Access, Excel and Word; Airtable experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and high expectations, willingness to push limits of existing abilities of the department to meet changing needs

  • Proficiency in Spanish a plus
