Reports to: Executive Director

Status: Full-time, exempt

Salary: $45,000, plus health insurance, paid time off, holidays. WFH possible.

Quintessence Theatre Group (QTG) brings epic works of classic drama and literature to the contemporary stage. As Philadelphia’s classical repertory theatre, Quintessence re-envisions the classics by inspiring audiences to consider what is timeless in theatre and in human nature. Founded in 2010, QTG performs in the historic Sedgwick Theater located in the culturally and economically diverse Mt. Airy neighborhood of NW Philadelphia. The company has mounted over 50 professional productions, including 16 plays in repertory, and has grown to an organizational budget of $1.3 million in 2021. Guided by a newly-revised strategic plan, QTG is working to acquire and renovate its home to provide for a sustainable future. 


The Development Services Manager (DSM) is an essential part of all development activities. S/he provides an effective infrastructure to support prospect research and management, gift processing, and database needs for the organization’s development efforts. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented and a problem-solver, but who values working as part of a high-energy team and contributing to the overall planning and opportunities of a dynamic young performing arts organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, the DSM will be responsible for Development Information Management, Gift Management, Prospect Management and Research, and Resource Management. In addition to the annual fund, the DSM will be part of planning and support for a capital campaign.


Relevant experience in database management, advancement/development functions for a non-profit organization, and office management

Knowledge and proficiency in Salesforce/PatronManager

Proficiency in Microsoft Office365

Organized self-starter with good attention to detail, problem-solving, project management, and analytics

Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Stays cool and focused under pressure, meets deadlines

Self-motivator who sets and achieves work goals, but who also takes direction and suggestions as appropriate

Handles confidential information appropriately

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a variety of stakeholders and personalities

A sense of humor is always a plus


$45,000 plus benefits
