Reporting to the General Manager, the Covid Compliance Manager (CCM) will ensure the safety and compliance of all staff and cast members within the Production Group for A CHRISTMAS CAROL.  The CCM will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing both the CDC guidelines and People’s Light COVID-19 Protocols backstage. They will work closely with the Company Manager and General Manager to ensure that all protocols are being followed and to support the Company Manager with cast needs in relation to COVID-19 testing and accommodations.

This role requires a flexible schedule, with weekend hours as the production demands. The ideal candidate has a great attention to detail, and a working knowledge of backstage at a professional theatre, of COVID protocols, and CDC guidelines, as well as a basic knowledge of COVID-19 and the COVID vaccines.

This is a part-time, non-exempt position that will not exceed 29 hours per week, but will require hours on six days a week during the run of the show.  The span of dates for this position are October 8, 2021 through January 2, 2022. Compensation is $18/hr.   



  • Oversee and monitor on-site COVID-19 testing per production.
  • Distribute home test kits weekly.
  • Work with the stage manager, and artistic team to develop a rehearsal schedule that allows for COVID compliant use of rehearsal space.
  • Conduct inspections of egress, and common areas for compliance with physical distancing requirements, including backstage, dressing rooms, and rehearsal spaces.
  • Provide daily COVID-19 safety reporting/logs for the project record.
  • Maintain a log of all testing and vaccinations, in addition to tracking people for contact tracing should someone test positive.
  • Attend full performances and monitor and enforce protocols backstage for both actors and crew.
  • Handle isolation and accommodations for any person that happens to test positive for COVID-19.
  • Stay current on new developments in health & safety, to improve the quality and efficacy of the processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Passion for live theatre and for working with artists 
  • Provide excellent, earnest hospitality. This is a critical part of the organizational culture 
  • Professional theatre experience 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook)   
  • Certification and training in COVID compliance (will be paid for by People’s Light if you do not have a current certificate)
  • Have a working understanding of COVID-19 symptoms, how the virus spreads, and how best to avoid it.
  • Demonstrate general support for the COVID-19 vaccines and knowledge of how they work to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • Attention to detail, the ability to exercise discretion and strong organization skills are essential.
  • Well-organized, dynamic person.
  • Some standing, walking, bending, frequent use of hands, stooping, and light lifting (at least 30 pounds) is needed
