The Hum'n'bards Theatre Troupe
Post Date: Jul 19, 2021

The Hum'n'Bards Theater Troupe presents their fifth Fringe production, The Hazards of Love, based on The Decemberists album of the same name.
This will be performed live and streamed digitally. We will be following all COVID-19 safety protocols according to Pennsylvania and Philadelphia's policies, as well as any which prioritize the safety of our artists and audiences.

This is an adaptation of the album "The Hazards of Love" by The Decemberists. The full album is available on YouTube and Spotify.
We are looking for all types of performers for this production.
The show will take place on Sept 29-Oct 2 in the evening. There will be a required rehearsal in the performance space on Sept 27 in the evening. The show will take place at Front Street Dive (upstairs at The Victoria Freehouse).

Performers will receive a stipend of a minimum of $100. We aim to pay more depending on ticket sales and fundraising leading up to the production.
If cast in this show, you will be expected to attend at least one promotional event, and share promotional images on your social media profiles.

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, August 4th 2021 from 7-9pm at Nine Hostage Arts, 3410 Brandywine Street, Philadelphia. The audition will be run by the Show Director, Travis Rosemarie Fischbach (she/they), the Casting Director, Quinton Alexander (he/they) and the Director of Production and Communications, CJ Higgins (they/them).

Please prepare a performance to a song from the album "The Hazards of Love" (or something similar musically). We are seeking a cast that has strong vocals and musicianship, but it is not required to play an instrument to audition. Please show off what you would like to bring to this production.

If you are unable to audition in-person on August 4th, you can use the audition form to submit an audition video. Please send it no later than 11:59PM on August 3rd.

The Hum'n'Bards Theater Troupe strives to provide a safe, collaborative environment to allow artists to create DIY theatrical productions. We have no tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, religious discrimination, ableism or any other form of bigotry in the production space.

Accommodations can be provided for performers with disabilities. Please email with the subject line "Audition Accommodations" and we will schedule a virtual audition and talk more about how to accommodate your needs. Please keep in mind that the venue for the show is up a flight of steps. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

A minimum $100 stipend; possible increase with fundraising and/or ticket sales
