Actor for Danielle

Philadelphia Young Playwrights and Temple University
Post Date: Nov 9, 2020

Philadelphia Young Playwrights and Temple University seek a Non-Equity transfemme actor to play the role of Danielle in a student-written play as part of our New Voices Workshop Productions, directed by Kelly O'Donnell. In the play, the character Danielle has not started to medically or socially transition as she has only disclosed her gender identity to her mother and a close friend in 8th grade. The rest of the cast is composed of Temple University undergraduate students. While high school and university actors are encouraged to express interest, the actor does not need to be a teen if they possess a youthful spirit.

This new play development process, which includes collaboration with a 9th grade student playwright, will have just over a week of rehearsals in November and two livestreamed performances - the entire production process will be hosted on Zoom and no in-person commitments are required. Actor will receive a $600 stipend.
