One of the greatest storytellers of his generation, James Lecesne (writer of the Academy Award-winning film, Trevor), takes us to a small Jersey shore town to unravel the story of Leonard Pelkey, a tenaciously optimistic and luminous 14-year-old boy. Leonard has gone missing and Lecesne brilliantly inhabits nearly a dozen personalities and voices of the people who shared Leonard’s life, including the detective assigned to the case. Together they form a portrait of a town, which has been unexpectedly inspired by Leonard, forcing them to question how they live, who they accept and what they leave behind.
