Salon Ariel: Jewish Playwriting Contest

SALON ARIEL: Jewish Playwriting Contest

Theatre Ariel, in partnership with New York City’s Jewish Plays Project and PhilaLandmarks, is participating in a National Jewish Playwriting contest. From fourteen competing plays, a group of Philadelphia play readers choose their three “Best Plays”: BELFAST KIND, ESTELLE SINGERMAN and HOW TO CONQUER AMERICA: A Mostly True History of Yogurt. Salon audiences will see twenty-minute excerpts performed from each of these plays and vote for the play that mostly compellingly embodies the Jewish voice, picking a Philadelphia winner. Seven other cities across the US are engaged in this process. From these eight cities, a winner will be chosen as Best Jewish Play of 2018, and will be produced in New York City as part of the 7th Annual Jewish Playwriting Contest June 2018.

This Salon performance includes a dessert reception.
