Anna | Theatre Philadelphia

Anna

Literature’s greatest heroine comes to new life in this world premiere stage adaptation. In a collaboration between Brenna Geffers and EgoPo’s acting ensemble, this sweeping epic is transformed into a makeshift travelling show. Armed with suitcases of junk, some broken instruments and a trainset, an impromptu theater family evokes the richness and inequality of late 19th-century Russian society, reminding us of the precariousness of building happiness on the unhappiness of others.
