Founded in 2012, Theatre Philadelphia is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to bringing together and celebrating Philadelphia's diverse and growing theatre community. We are committed to leading efforts that grow audiences and promote public participation in theatrical work.

About Philly Theatre Week

Philly Theatre Week, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, is a 10-day celebration of artists, organizations, and audiences that have made Greater Philadelphia one of the most vibrant theatre regions in the nation. Each February, audiences have the opportunity to try over 100 unique theatrical events through a series of productions, readings, interactive gatherings, and more.

Launched in 2018, Philly Theatre Week has grown into an annual tradition in just two years, building visibility for our theatre scene through robust media and marketing. Event registration is completely free and accessible, with ticket revenue returning directly to producers.

To participate, producing organizations must set aside an allocation of Philly Theatre Week tickets for Free, $15, or $30, in addition to normal box office sales. In 2019, 4,371 reduced-price Philly Theatre Week tickets were purchased, generating $63,516 for theatrical work. Overall, total ticket sales for the 10-day period at participating organizations were estimated at $1.8 million.

In 2018, press efforts ensured that Philly Theatre Week was included on 8 radio features, 19 television appearances reaching an audience of 900,000, and 50 digital and print articles from local and national publications. Additional digital marketing efforts made 1 million impressions.

Proposals are due by August 19th, 2019. A selection will be determined by mid-September and announced publicly in mid-October.

A digital Question and Answer period will be held from July 22nd - July 29th, 2019. Responses will be shared and distributed collectively on August 1st.
