Call for Actors for One-Act Play Premier

Three actors (non-union) needed for premier of one act play The Red Letter Locker by Randy Petersen as part of BTP’s Fall Showcase 2017 with performances on November 17 & 18 at 8 PM at Olivet Covenant Presbyterian Church, 608 N. 22nd Street, Philadelphia. 19130

Roles Available:

Mia – Looking for a female actor of color to play a vibrant, intelligent high school student  who is serving a detention for an infraction she did not commit.

Note: Actor can be older but able to portray a teen

Arthur Conan Doyle – Sherlock Holmes author; transported into 2017 by a time machine made by H.G. Wells. Doyle and Mia work together to find out who really committed the crime using Sherlockian methods of deduction.

Principal/Student/Teacher/Janitor – Someone who enjoys playing multiple roles and ages. Prefer someone who identifies as female, any ethnicity or race.

A small stipend is offered for approximately (15) hours of rehearsal on weeknight evenings or weekend afternoons (exact times TBD), (1) tech rehearsal the evening of November 16th, and 2 performances.

Possibility of local tour of show in libraries, schools, and senior centers within the Philly area from January – March, 2018 with additional stipend per performance.

Send resume and headshot to Auditions to be held at Olivet Covenant Church – 608 N. 22nd Street – Philadelphia 19130 on Wednesday, October 11th beginning at 6pm.

For audition: Please prepare a one-minute monologue. We will also have readings from the script that will take no longer than 45 minutes of your time.
