The Candlelight Theatre is presenting Cabaret January 18 – February 23, 2020. The production will be directed by Bob Kelly. Dann Dunn is Choreographer and Chris Tolomeo is Musical Director. Auditions will be held in Philadelphia at The Rock School, Monday, September 16 and at The Candlelight Theatre Sunday September 22 and Tuesday September 24. . The role of the Emcee is cast, all other roles are open and paid.  Restaurant opportunities available.

Sign-in after 6:30pm. Auditions begin at 7pm.  No appointments. Please prepare 16 - 32 bars showing range and in the style of the show and be prepared to dance. Please come with headshot and resume stapled together, do not send in advance. The role of the Emcee is cast, all other roles are open and paid.  Restaurant opportunities available.

Cabaret rehearsals will begin (approximately) November 19. Performances are January 18 – February 23, 2020 and generally Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Also scheduled: 2 Thursday evenings - January 30 and February 13, and 2 Wednesday matinees - January 22 and February 19.

Character Breakdown:

Sally Bowles: 20's-30's (Low E to C)  Cabaret singer at the Kit Kat Klub. British.  Struggles with a darkening atmosphere both inside and outside the nightclub. Strong actor/singer.

Emcee:  The role of the Emcee has been cast.

Cliff Bradshaw: 20's-30's (Low A to E) Bari/Tenor.  An American writer traveling in Berlin. Gets caught up in the life of the Kit Kat Klub and the unstable atmosphere of Berlin. Sexually ambiguous.

Fraulein Schneider: 50's-60's (Low D to A) Alto. A landlady who rents rooms in her large flat. German accent.

Herr Schultz: 50's-60's  (Low E to High G) Tenor. One of Fraulein Schneider's roomers. Proprietor of a fruit shop. German accent.

Fraulein Kost: 20's-40's (Low A to high F) Mezzo with strong top. Another roomer of Fraulein Schneider. earns money by offering favors to sailors. Commanding sexual presence. German accent.

Ernst Ludwig:  20's-40's. Smuggles funds for the Nazi party. Frequents the Kit Kat Klub. German accent.

Male and Female Ensemble: Strong dancers/singers to play Kit Kat Klub performers as well as various patrons and other roles.
