2020/21 Season Apprentice Program

Post Date: Mar 9, 2020

Application Deadline:
April 1, 2020

About the Program:
Our apprentice program provides training in all aspects of nonprofit professional theater management and operations, with rotations in both artistic and administrative functions, including box office, house management, marketing, production, run crew, and stage management. Although not a dedicated acting apprentice program, theater artists on acting tracks are encouraged to apply; where appropriate to the casting, apprentices may have understudy opportunities.

Ideal candidates will have recently graduated from an undergraduate theater program and/or have some relevant administrative, technical, or live theater experience. The program offers a salary of $415 per week and paid time off, as well as complimentary tickets to Lantern productions, participation in special off-site theater events, and complimentary enrollment in Lantern Theater School classes. Apprentices work full-time schedules (40+ hours per week) and must be available for evening and weekend performances for most of the rotations during the season (August 11, 2020 through June 30, 2021). Our goal is to select three or four apprentices by May 1, 2020 to start in July 2020. Preference will be given to candidates without existing conflicts.

How to Apply

Submit your cover letter and resume(s) to jobs@lanterntheater.org with "2020/21 Season Professional Apprentice Program" in the subject line. Feel free to include separate resumes for your performance experience and other professional experience, including survivor jobs. Ideally, your cover letter and resume(s) will be combined into one single PDF.

Application deadline is Wednesday, April 1, 2020. We will conduct select phone and in-person interviews in April 2020. No phone calls, please.

Lantern Theater Company highly values diversity in the workplace and is an equal opportunity employer. Qualified candidates of all backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
